The piece is approximately 6"x11".This is an Archeopteryx, one of the first birds evolved from dinosaurs. I like the idea of this happy bird, free from its stony confines, bursting through the ferns. Time and change are endless, yet there are constants. I like to think of this creature romping through the ferns in my back yard, its ancestors embedded in the rock beneath me. "
